A painting is a serious commitment for both the client and I. No more than two preliminary meetings are usually needed prior to start work. I am as flexible as possible in terms of listening, advising and setting the overall feel of the composition so that both parties are aware of what will be expected to create the finished piece. I leave framing to the discretion of the client, although I am happy to offer advice on the matter.

Commissions can be based on photographs, postcards, magazine articles, images from brochures, etc. The same applies to portraits: I do not require sittings.Upon agreement of a commission a simple contract is drawn up. Payment is made by two equal instalments, the first due before the commission is started and the second on completion of it.
