Born in Biarritz in the South West of France, Hervé enjoyed painting as a child, but opted to pursue his other dream of becoming a Chef. Following National Service, he left France and moved to the UK to learn English. Hervé however longed to see the customers that he could only hear from the kitchens; so he moved over to restaurant management. Over the years, his career took him to various parts of Europe, the US and the Far East before finally returning to England and settling in London.
It was in the opulent world of hotels and restaurants that Hervé’s interest in art was re-awakened and which eventually led him to leave his career to dedicate his life to what he grew to love, painting.
Having established a studio in London, Hervé became a full time professional artist. From photographs in glossy fashion monthlies, garden and destination magazines to real life images, he finds a never-ending source of inspiration which he captures in oil.
His pictures are original and bright, using rich colours that create an engaging and positive mood. His work has been said to share some characteristics of Hockney, but above all, has a pleasing style that compliments surroundings and boost the spirits. Hervé has had his work exhibited in galleries throughout the UK and at public and private events.
Late 2006, Hervé launched a corporate team building concept called ‘ArtWorks’. Using his business background and his understanding of managing teams, he uses the arts of painting and drawing to nurture creativity and allows people to ‘think outside the box’. Of the workshop, Hervé says: "The Arts have a unique way to engage people and bring teams together, and this applies to both business and social forums".
